Wudang Quan, more generally known as Neijia, is an internal Chinese martial that originated in the Wudang Mountains of Hubei Province in southern China. This art is known for its internal style of fighting and commonly, its practitioner does not use force against force, but rather redirects the opponent’s attacks.
Wudang Quan's attacks are mainly aimed against pressure points (Dim Mak) and other vital areas of the human body. These attacks mainly involve finger strikes, palm strikes and breaking techniques which are based on short-range fighting styles. The footwork in Wudang Quan is light and agile and the body movement is soft and flexible. This art requires peace, quiet, and calmness, and emphasizes achieving greater longevity, improving health, and overall strengthening the body rather than fighting as its primary focus.
