Sikaran

Sikaran is the Philippine martial art of foot-fighting. From the Filipino word itself, "sikad" which means "kick", this martial art features fancy footwork and various styles of kicks such as biakid (resembles the roundhouse kick), panghilo (paralyzing kick), which aims at less vital parts of the body; and pamatay (lethal kick), which aims at the heart, neck, head, and groin. Sikaran started out as a form of pastime and a spectacle in town festivities; consequently, it developed its own rules and modfications and it became a martial art and a sport in its own right.
