A Shooto match

Shooto is an eclectic Japanese martial art and also a Mixed Martial Arts system that combines Western boxing, kickboxing, and submission wrestling. It's an extreme combat sport that is fought in one 30 minute event. The term shooto (shu to) means "learning to fight" in Japanese, and that's exactly what the martial art teaches its practitioners - to fight and nothing else. In fact, because of the system's make up, a Shootofighter can sucessfully compete in all ranges of combat (eg: striking, grappling and ground fighting).
