Shen Long or Shen Lung Kung Fu is a Chinese-based American martial art created by Grandmaster Fu Xi Wen in the 1960s. Like other modern forms of martial arts, Shen Long Kung Fu is not only a fighting style but also a philosophy and a way of life. It emphasizes not only the development of an individual's self-defence capabilities but his/her character as well. Shen Long Kung Fu teaches the mastery of body, mind and spirit. A Shen Long practitioner must work for many years in order to attain the body of a warrior, the mind of a scholar, and the spirit of a holy man.

Shen Long Kung Fu is also characterized by use of five animal forms--Crane, Mantis, Monkey, Snake, and Tiger--in its training. The combination of these particular five animal forms adds up supposedly to the Lung, or "dragon," hence the name of this style.
