Panantukan, which means "Dirty Boxing", is the empty-handed boxing component of Filipino Martial Arts. It is a street-oriented fighting system that is designed to kill and maim opponents as quikcly as possible in dangerous street situations. Its movements are based on the fast and smooth movements of Kali. Its offensive techniques are primarily composed of upper body strikes such as punches to the groin, chest, neck and head, elbow strikes, head-butts and low-line kicks. Its defensive movements emphasize minimal contact between the practitioner and the attacker because it prefers parries and deflections whether the enemy is using a weapon or not.

It is notable that this art is not taught alone: it is used as a part of a curriculum together with other Filipino martial arts such as Eskrima and Kali Sikaran. Only a few training schools teach Panantukan as an independent fighting system.
