Nanquan may refer to a specific modern martial art developed in China or the traditional fighting styles developed south of the Yangtze River called the Southern Styles or Southern Fist. Nanquan could also refer to the contemporary Wushu event derived from these styles. The basis of contemporary Nánquán hails primarily from the traditional Cantonese family styles of Hong (Hung), Li (Lay), Liu (Lau), Mo (Mok) and Cai (Choy) along with their more contemporary Kung Fu variants of Choy Lee Fut and Hung Gar.
