Mu Ye Do Bo Tong Ji

Mu Ye Do Bo Tong Ji is an illustrated manual describing Korean martial arts as they existed in the 18th century. It was first published in the 1790s, commissioned by the royal court to revive the nation's military prowess at a time when it was beset by the imperial ambitions of Japan and China. Much of it is based on two earlier manuals, Mu Ye Je Bo (1599) and Mu Ye Shin Bo (1759). Muye 24 ki, a modern (or traditional?) Korean martial art, is based on the techniques described in this book.
