Release date(s) 1998

Mortal Kombat 4 has gone 3d which means that a player can expect to see new moves, holds, and characters. Weapons have also been thrown into the mix, as each character possesses a sword, club, or staff to use to his or her advantage. The plot of Mortal Kombat 4 ties together the loose ends of Mortal Kombat 3 and Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero. With Shao Kahn out of the way, Shinnok assumes the role of the new enemy. Returning characters include Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Liu Kang, Johnny Cage, Sonya, and Raiden. Most of the old characters retain their old moves but there are also some new ones thrown in as well. You'll also find all of the fatalities and combos available in this arcade port.
