Based of the Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance engine, players once again have to fight to stop this new threat in Mortal Kombat: Deception, the sixth installment of the fighting series. The standard Arcade, Versus, and Practice modes return, as well as new items to be found in the Krypt. In addition, there are new Konquest Adventure, Chess Kombat, and Puzzle Kombat modes to give the player new mini-games. Several legendary fighters make their return, in addition to new kombatants, and the fighting stages are more interactive and multi-tiered.

Plot

The story starts off with the Deadly Alliance completed and Raiden defeated. In this situation, nothing can stand between Shang Tsung and Quan Chi... except each other. Before they can fully complete their betrayal and turn on each other, the Dragon King awakens. The two sorcerers, with the help of a weakened Raiden, try to repel this new threat. In a last ditch effort, Raiden sacrifices himself to stop this new threat, but it is too late, the Dragon King has returned.
