Mizongyi or Mi Zhong Quan is an eccentric martial art from Northern China that combines internal and external styles. This art is often called "Lost Track Fist" because it consists of odd, unpredictable, inconsistent, and almost illogical movement. These movements serve to confuse and distract an opponent. There is also a fair amount of acrobatics to go along with the “lost” footwork, involving leaps, jump kicks, and rolls.
Mizongyi focuses on internal movements for power and uses excellent hand and foot coordination. Techniques taught in this art consist of circular movments, and attacks are mainly composed of slaps and toss-roll-and-capture, while lower body movements include leap, cut, hang, and tangle. Some of the forms of Mizongyi consist of sixteen main fighting principles, as well as staff, spear, and sparring sets.
