For centuries, martial arts created its own brand of literature in the form of prose such as novels and stories to further embody the ideals and philosophy of a warrior's way. Countless book have been discovered and published (both ancient and modern) that tries to capsize the reality and truth through the proper practice of martial arts. However, contrary to the typical belief that martial arts only developed in the East Asian Regions, there are also a number of literature found in the western world that discusses ancient fighting techniques.

Itis important to note that literature is not only a component of a societies expressive culture, it is also an example its pop culture. However, the subject of literature is a separate subjecr in its right because of wide scope as a subject in the martial arts field

In this section, we will try to uncover every martial art lterature that exists in every part of the world.

Chinese Martial Art Literature

Ancient Chinese literature is primarily made up of long annals of histories, stories and poems that tell that present their rich culture and history as a nation. Being one of its cultural component, martial arts in Chinese literatue have gone a long way. Starting from stories that combines stories of chivalry and philosphy (wuxia), books on war and military startegies, to present day martial art fictions from contemporary writers.


Japanese Martial Art Literature

Japanese Literature have long been influenced by Chinese Literature. Because of the passage of time and its geographical isolation, consequently, Japan cultivated its own culture and developed its own system of writing and language. Within its history of long wars and struggles, we will see the creation of a distinct Japanese martial art that orginated from the notable samurai class.

The samurai' gave the permission for the birth of Japanes medieval literature which heavily contained Zen Buddhism philosophy, legendary samurai exploits and mythical martial arts feats.
