The Legend of Chun Hyang is a manga that follows thae story of Chun Hyang, a feisty young daughter of the village shaman and a master of the martial arts. When a tyrannical warlord threatens harmony in her village and abducts one of her friends, Chun Hyang vows revenge and sets off on an adventure that would become a legend. It was made by CLAMP an was published by Hakusensha in 1996.

The story itself is loosely based on an ancient Korean legend, which tells the story of a star-crossed love. In the legend Chun Hyang really is a delicate flower, a beautiful woman meant to marry the nobleman Mong Ryong. While the legend has a rather sad ending, CLAMP put a far brighter spin on their version.
