Kuntao is the Hokien Chinese term for Quan Fa or "The Way of the Fist". It is a martial art that is widely known in Taiwan and other areas of Sotheast Asia. There are many styles of Kuntao in the globe because of the diffusion of the art. You can find Kuntao styles from the Philippines to Germany, because the style must adapt to new environments, fighting in different terrain, fighting local styles, defending or fighting with local weapons. Most Indonesian kuntao styles began to integrate techniques from Silat styles and some even changed their name from "kuntao" to "silat". Lie Seong Kuntao is an example of an hybrid martial art born from the combination of Silat and Kuntao.
