Koshti or Iranian Wrestling is the ancient Iranian sport of wrestling which is still alive and well in Iran. This wrestling style is divided into two general category; one category lifting and throwing the opponent is considered victory, whereas in the other types bringing the entire or part of back or knee or arm to the ground is considered victory. However, this art retains some vestiges of its violent origins that includes moves (like limb-breaking holds) banned in other styles of wrestling.
