Quick Help

As you read the notes below, you'll notice I'm actually giving you examples at the same time.

1. Create New Edit Section: "== ==": Creates a new section. In between the two = signs, enter your section title.

2. Create New Subsection for Edit: "=== ===": Creates a new subsection. In between the 3 = signs, enter your subsection title. Auto numbering.

3. Create a new Sub-Subsection for Edit: "==== ====": Creates a new sub-subsection. In between the 4 = signs, enter your sub-subsection title. Auto numbering.

4. Bold: 3 apostrophes in front and after the text will BOLD the text.

5. Italicize: 4 or 2 apostrophes in front and after the text will italicize the text.

6. HTML Tags may be used to modify the font, color and size. Use Wiki markup first, and then HTML markups 2nd.

7. Strike: To Strike out a text put the code "< s t r i k e >" before and then "< / s t r i k e >" after the text.

8. Underline: To Underline a Text a text put the code "< u >" before and then "< / u > after the text.

9. Superscripts To Superscript a text put the code "< s u p >" before and then "< /s u p >" after the text.

10. Subscripts To Subscript a text put the code "< s u b >" before and then "< / s u b >" after the text.

11. Centering Your Text To Center a text put the code "< c e n t e r >" before and then "< / c e n t e r >" after the text. You'll notice the line above is centered.

12. Block Quote The block quote command will indent both margins (left and right). Use "< b l o c k q u o t e >" before the text area and "< / b l o c k q u o t e >" after the text area.

13. Invisible Comments to Editors only appear when you edit a page. They are useful notes for other editors to read. You accomplish this by entering, " < ! - - your note here - - > ". You place your comments in between the two dashes on the left and right.

14. Bulleted Lists - Start each line with a star (asterisk) *. More stars (asterisk) indicate a deeper level.

  • (one asterisk) (I entered a "*" in the beginning of the line)
  • (two asterisks)
    • (three asterisks)
  • (four asterisks)

When I enter "*:" then it continues the previous line without adding any bullets. When you enter a line without any asterisks, then Wiki knows you're done with the list. You can always start a new list. Like this.

  • And like this
    • And like this
      • And like this
        • And like this

15. Numbered Lists can be created by using the # "pound" symbol. By adding a "#" symbol in the front of the sentence, it automatically creates a number list. (using 1 # symbol)

  1. By adding more than one "#" pound symbols, it will indent the line and start the

number list again. (using 2 # symbols)

  1. If you enter 1 "#" symbol again, it will again continue the old number list. (using

1 # symbol)

    1. Or create a new list (using 2 # symbols)
    2. And then continue (using 2 # symbols)
      1. Or go like this (using 3 # symbols)
      2. And like this (using 3 # symbols)

16. Indenting The Line A Colon ":" in the beginning of the sentence will indent the line.

Like this.
I used two colons here
I used 3 colons here. The more colons, the more the indent will be.

17. Dividing Line Using 4 dashes will create a dividing line. ---- Like this.

18. A Referral Tag could be helpful in documenting and citing your sources. For example:

There are over six billion people in the world <ref>CIA World Factbook, 2006. </ref>

References: <references/> >>> doesnt' seem to be working here in my example though. If someone else can figure this out, we'd appreciate it.

19. Creating Links To Pages - You can create links to pages that are existing or non-existing. The Wiki will allow you to create content for a new page if it doesn't already exist. If it's an already existing page, then Wiki will automatically link you to it. To create a link to a page, enter "[ [" in front and then "] ]" behind the page name. You can also format the link with italics or bold by using the ' tags. Capitalization matters only after the 1st letter. Example, [ [ martial arts ] ]

20. Creating links to anchored sites - just put [ [ the anchored link | link ] ]. Example,

[ [ Ninjutsu#Shuriken : Shuriken ] ]

Uploading and Embedding photos

  • Upload a photo in the upload section and copy its destination filename.
  • Go to the page that you are making and click the "embed image button" (the button with an image of a Photo portrait found at the wikitoolbar area, just above the edit area)

It will look like this:

   Image:Example.jpg
  • To thumbnail the image just follow this simple syntax
   [ [ Image : Image name.jpg | thumb | caption ] ]
  • Just remember to put the image file extension at the end of every image name, or when you are copying and pasting the image name dont forget to include the file extension: .JPG for JPEG or JPG, .GIF for GIF's, and .PNG for PNG's. I dont know if this wiki supports TIFF.
