We are in pursuit of the advancement of martial arts knowledge done by the act of sharing and encouraging martial arts enthusiasts, professionals and interested people to contribute insights on martial arts. We want to spread the greatness of martial arts not only as a form of combat but as a way of life. Our goal is to be the main source of martial arts knowledge and further develop the realm of the said field.

History

This wiki project started in October of 2006, and since then we have 774 articles in English all dealing with topics containing martial arts. And because this wikisite is relatively new, we hope that visitors come in and write and organize articles. In the process, we hope that an internet based community of martial artists and enthusiasts will be formed.

Goal

Being a wiki, our main goal is to provide people with comprehensive information about martial arts and subjects related to it. In the coming years, we would like to see Wikimartialarts.org become the number one resource center of martial arts knowledge on the World Wide Web.

The Main Page page is divided into several sections:

• The main navigation section

There a visitor can find information on the other topics regarding martial art like its history, films, literature, video games, comics, stores and dojo listings.

• Welcome section

It contains a brief description and obejective of the site.

• Did you know... section

This part contains tidbits of information found in the newest articles uploaded in wikimartialarts.org. Any registered user can edit this part of the main page and add their new article.

• Feature Article section

It contains articles that are currently talked about in the martial arts world. It could feature pesonalities, or events that is still "hot from the grill" of the combat realm. Only administrators could edit this part.

• Styles of Martial Art

This section is where you can find different kinds of martial arts all around the globe. Styles are organized according to the country of origin.

• Forums Section

A link for the forums section is found here. Encourage users to help us organize the tpoics and threads in part.

• "Getting Started"

In this part, we provide user guidelines on the way this wiki is organized. To all the newbies in this site, please take time reading this section.
