Go Rin no Sho or The Book of Five Rings is a martial art literature imbued with philosophical and strategy techniques for warriors in the past and the present alike. Written by Miyamoto Musashi secluded in a cave around 1645 before his death, the Go Rin no Sho is collection of five books that reflect on a warrior's proper attitude, techniques and virtue towards life and his/her enemies. It was borne oout of Musashi's years of experience as an undefeated samurai. Famous for over 300 years as the guide to Kendo and Kenjutsu, The Book of Five Rings is one of the most perceptive psychological guides to strategy ever written. This text is also used by entrepreneurial Japanese businessmen today as a guide for business practice, running sales campaigns like military operations with the same energy that motivated Musashi.
