Gi
From Karate, Kungfu, Wrestling, Mixed Fighting Information Source
Gi or keikogi is the Japanese term for uniform; however, this word is usually used in martial arts as a term for certain uniforms worn in Okinawan and Japanese martial art traditions. In English, the keikogi (keiko - "sessions," gi - "uniform") is simply called a gi. A possible explanation why the gi is sometimes called a dogi is the conjunction of two Japanese words: do ("path") and gi, which together mean "the dress that you wear in your chosen path."
