Fut Gar ("Buddha Family") or Buddha Fist is a southern style martial art from China that combines both internal and external elements in its forms. Fut Gar usually draws power from the ground through the legs up to the waist, and then concentrates the energy from this region and releases it to the arms to deliver one explosive blow to the opponent. Offensive techinques in Fut Gar include circular punches and hammerfists, while its defensive movements include intercepting and counter-attacking. Thus, Fut Gar makes attacking and defence look like one continuous motion.
