Dynasty Warriors 5 boasts with the largest cast of characters ever assembled, the biggest battlefields to conquer, an incredible array of new attacks, powerful weapons, smarter soldiers and tougher challenges. The setting is again ancient China and this time there are 48 different characters to choose from in Musou mode. Majority of the 48 characters have to be unlocked and only 6 new characters have been added to the series. Each character has has/her own storyline and there are more guys to square up against on screen then any previous game in the series. The game uses the same graphics engine as the previous game. Changed for this edition, is the bodyguards, they now do a better job of protecting you against the many enemies you encounter. The stronghold system from Dynasty Warriors 4: Empires has been carried over, this is the ability to taking over an enemies base by killing the leader of the particular base.

A second edition in the tactical strategy variant in Koei's brutal, historical action series Dynasty Warriors. The player's ultimate goal is to conquer the 25 regions of Ancient China and build an entire Empire using cunning diplomacy and uncompromising force. Dynasty Warriors 5: Empires gives armchair generals total control of their kingdom. Now, gamers can issue direct orders to each officer or signal general commands to officers on the field. There's even greater authority over Government, Product Development, Diplomacy and Battle Tactics with the game's 25 new policies for a total of 75 in all. The game's imperial-sized action includes 4 scenarios to unlock, 2-Player Co-Op play in "Empire" and "Free" modes, new items to unlock, and control of over 200 officers. Once a battle is finished, there's the real history of Ancient China to discover in the game's detailed encyclopedia.

Dynasty Warriors 5: Xtreme Legends

Dynasty Warriors 5: Xtreme legends an updated form of Dynasty Warriors 5, offering new characters, adventures, and the return of the Xtreme mode. The storyline of Dynasty Warriors 5 is much the same as the previous entries in the series. Based on the Chinese story called the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, players ally with one faction and attempt to help unite all of China under its banner. The Xtreme Legends version of Dynasty Warriors 5 includes the Xtreme Mode previously found in Dynasty Warriors 4: Xtreme Legends. This mode allows players to select any of the available 48 characters and head straight into a number of different scenarios. The goal of Xtreme mode is to clear as many scenarios as possible without the automatic healing between missions that usually takes place in the game. Destiny mode has also been added to Xtreme Legends. Players can create their own character and then select one of the 48 other characters to act as their general. The goal is to conquer China, but the game allows players to go about it in several different ways, including shifting alliances and political back stabbing.
