The Chain Whip is a wepon that consists of several metal rods that are joined together by rings from end to end to form a flexible chain. Other versions of chain whips has a handle at one end and a metal dart at the other to add a slashing and peircing action against an opponent. Usually, a chain whip has flags attached on it to add a visual appeal when performing a Wushu routine, and help the performer stabilize the weapon. This reduces the performer's risk of inadvertently striking himself/herself.
