Cha Chuan is a martial art that enjoys fame in the Northern regions of China because of its grace and effectiveness in combat. Famous Wushu athletes such as Hua Zongqi and Cha Yuanyi developed this style. The system they created was called Jiazi Quan at first, but when the two masters died, their followers renamed the art Cha Chuan. Cha Chuan’s movements are graceful, clear, continuous and rhythmic. The execution of force and strength are quick, and the use of energy is economical. This style of Kung Fu stresses the use of both hands and feet at the same time. Different techniques and moves are combined to facilitate continuous attacks. Today Cha Chuan is still as popular as it was an hundred years ago.
