Brazilain Jiu-Jitsu or BJJ is a world renowned martial art today that focuses on grappling, ground techniques and submission techniques. The main objective of this combat style is to gain a dominant position to force the opponent to submit. BJJ is a derivative and combination of the Japanese arts of Judo and Jujutsu; however, this style only focuses on the Newaza. Like Judo, it emphasizes proper leverage and footing in order to gain an advantage against bigger and more powerful enemies.

BJJ's popularity is credited to Royce Gracie, champion of several UFC tournaments, and a master of this style. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is commnly seen in Mixed Martial Arts Tournaments.
