Basilisk: The Kouga Ninja Scrolls is a manga, authored by Masaki Segawa and published in Japan in 2003 and 2004, based on novel The Kouga Ninja Scrolls by Futaro Yamada published in 1958. The anime, produced in 2005 by GONZO Studios. [edit] PlotBasilisk follows the war between two ninja clans - the Iga and the Kouga. A truce had halted their 400-year feud, but as the story begins, that truce is nullified. Just as the heirs of these clans are to wed and end the feud forever, the clans are plunged into a deadly contest pitting their greatest ninjas against each other in order to win 1000 years of succession rights.
