In the practice of martial arts, aside from the use of weapons, equipments are very essential. It may include the simplest form of uniforms like the gi, to a wide array of armory. Equipments compliments the use of weapons because it safeguards a practioners lfe and limb, thats why some martial art styles require the use of equipments. Some equipments are not only used to for protection purposes, it also honors the tradition of its respective martial art style by serving as a ceremonial object.

The Shinobi Shozoku is a type of Gi that is characterized by its dark-color which is worn by practitioners of Ninjutsu. It is composed of a split-toed boots called the "jika-tabi" which is always accompanied by socks and trousers that are tediously tied at the ankles, waist, and the knees. It also has a jacket that has lapels that overlap that is tcuked under the trousers and a protective sleeve that covers the arms and the hands. It aslo comes with a hood hood or a mask that is suppose to caver the ninja's mask. The intricacy of the Shinobi Shozoku is designed for utility and convenience for it can conceal weapons, and protect the practitioner as well. Some ninjutsu schools use clored obi belts to indicate the ninja's ranking. The outfit is made of strong, dark-colored fabric, usually black cotton, fitted loosely to allow freedom of movement.
