Help:Vandalism
From Martial Arts, MMA, Karate, Kungfu Information Source
Vandalism is any act of serious defacement or destruction of a structure or symbol that goes against the rules of a governing body or an individual. Here at Wikimartialarts, vandalism is the damage done to the integrity of the wiki project. It may either be as simple as changing the text of an article to producing non-sense results or placing obscenities in the images section of an entry.
This is a serious crime inside any wiki site and is dealt accordingly based on the rules set by an administrator.

- Adding non-sense text in an entry.
- Adding silly jokes in an entry that aims to degrade the article.
- Creating a hoax or fallacious entry.
- Adding misinformation, changing dates or making other sensible-appearing substitutions and typos, hiding vandalism e.g. by making two bad edits and only reverting one, or reverting legitimate edits to hinder the improvement process.

- Uploading images with offensive content, or images that are copyrighted.
- Placing { { subject for deletion } } templates to article that does not fall under its category.

[edit] How to Monitor Vandalism?
- The best way to monitor vandalism is visiting the recent changes section and viewing the changes made.
- Keeping a watch on your Watchlist page.
- The auto-summary feature can help users detect vandalism.
[edit] How to deal With Vandalism
- Revert the article at hand and leave a warning message on the user's talk page. Also it is recommended to check the page history after reverting to make sure you have removed all the vandalism; there may be multiple vandal edits, sometimes from several different IPs.
- If it is obvious that all versions of the page are pure vandalism, nominate the page for deletion. * Check the vandal's other contributions (check the person's IP address or username) — you will often find more malicious edits.
- Dont be afraid to put status templates to indicate whether it is in a "Warning" or "Subject for Deletion" status.
- Warning template = { { warning } }
- Subject for Deletion Template = { { subject for deletion } }
- Warning templates look like this:
![]() |

- Subject for deletion templates look like this:
for further information please read our vandalism guidelines
- A user may put warning templates ( { { warning } } ) on vandalized articles and images that may last for 3 days.
- After 3 days, if the vandalized article is still not edited, a user may put a subject for deletion template that will last for 2 days. And after 2 days, if the article is still not edited for improvement the administrators shall delete the article.
[edit] Administrator's Intervention
If the administrators found a vandalled article, they may:
- Put warning templates ( { { warning } } ) on vandalled articles and images that may last for 3 days.
- After 3 days, if the vandalled article is still not edited, we will put a subject for deletion template that will last for 2 days. And after 2 days, if the article is still not edited for improvement the administrators shall delete the article.
- IP addresses and users who commit such abuse will be warned for 3 days. If they do not remove their malicious entries within 3 days, they will be candidates for expulsion or blacklisting in the wiki project immediately.
[edit] Removal of the Warning and Deletion Templates
Anyone can remove the templates as long as the article is cleared of any vandalism. Remember, removing the templates without editing the article is considered a vandalism.
